RV Show Tips

Know how you plan to use your RV

Make sure you know how you want to use your RV. For example, do you
want it to travel across the country or for tailgating on the weekends? Do you have a favorite campground or RV park? Make sure the model you buy fits the requirements of the RV park.

Have an idea of how many people will be using the RV

The number of people that a RV can accommodate is one of the biggest factors when choosing a type and model. Make sure you get a sense for how big or small a RV feels by the number of people it can comfortably hold. Many people will come in and out of the RVs on display. Wait around for a time when the number of people you will typically hold in your RV is matched by the people in the model. This is a great chance to see who comfortable it will be after you purchase it.

Determine what features are "must haves"

The more you know about the features you desire in a RV, the more prepared you will be to see the models that meet your needs. Sticking with the "must haves" will save you money by protecting you from the desire to grow your feature list.
When you arrive at the show, take time to plan out your day.
If you know you of specific manufacturers you want to see, plan out your route
on the map. Also, make note of all bathroom locations!

Wear comfortable shoes!

You will be doing a lot of walking and standing so make sure that your footwear does not get in the way of an enjoyable experience at the RV show.
If you feel you need more guidance, check out the seminars.
Really well run RV shows will have many seminars to entertain and educate you. There may be one designed to answer your questions.

Check out the RV show location and see if you can make your trip to the show a vacation

If you want to go to a show that is not in your area, check out local attractions to make it a fun vacation trip.  Look for amusement parks and sight seeing opportunities.

If you are planning on staying more than one day, you may want to make campground/hotel reservations in advance

The bigger the show the more competition you are going to have for hotel and campground reservations. Make sure that you plan early so that you can get a location that is close enough to the show to make for a desirable experience.

Have fun!

We hope you have a great time at the show! If you have more tips for us, post them in the comments section below.
